BCL PMO Delivers Largest Programme of Work in BCL's History

Eight new floors at Castan Chambers and Aickin Chambers were successfully opened late 2017.

BCL were proud to unveil the first four of the additional new floors at Aickin Chambers in October.  We welcomed barristers from locations both within and external to the BCL network to levels 19, 20 and 21.  Level 18 will be used as a relocation floor as the Aickin Refurbishment Programme is completed.

This was followed by the completion of four new floors at Castan Chambers in November and December which saw 124 barristers relocate to new floors on levels 9,10, 11 and 18.  The completion of these new floors also saw the opening of our largest floor to date, accommodating 54 barristers on level 9.

Throughout the project our Programme Management Office (PMO) worked closely with all barristers to ensure an element of choice in the design, providing a unique and valuable client experience.  Meeting demands for more space in close proximity to the legal precinct, the new floors will encourage collegiality and culture while providing barristers with the most up to date facilities, equipment and technology.

We would like to thank our partners IRM Interiors, COX Architecture, CBRE and JLL who supported us in creating an open and collegiate environment for barristers, enhancing individual practices.

We have further works in the pipeline in 2018, with the refurbishment of nine levels at Aickin Chambers planned for a target completion date of March 2019.
