Introducing Practice Support Services

Practice Support Services provides simple, cost effective administrative support to barristers.  We undertake a comprehensive recruitment process to ensure the support staff come with the right experience, the right training and the right attitude to help assist barristers in the areas they need it most.

Practice Support Services is currently offering two key services:

-          Managed Floor Services – tailored to specific floor needs

-          Recruitment and Support Staff – temporary and permanent support staff solutions

BCL is Relocating Offices

Barristers’ Chambers Limited (BCL) is relocating to new offices from Monday 9 November.

BCL Announces Castan Chambers at 460 Lonsdale Street

BCL announces the pending opening of Castan Chambers at 460 Lonsdale Street to honour the late Aaron Ronald "Ron" Castan AM QC.

460 Lonsdale Street provides excellent access to the Supreme Court, the County Court, the Magistrates Court and the Federal Court of Australia being centrally within the legal precinct. It provides BCL with the opportunity to further meet the burgeoning demand from members of the Victorian Bar for a modern professional work environment with a focus on shared facilities and spaces, in an A class building. Construction is due to start shortly with tenancy expected to commence in late September/early October.

As with level 23 Aickin Chambers, the West Extension and Level 12 Isaacs, BCL has engaged collaboratively with its clients and their vision of an optimal workspace at an appropriate and acceptable price point. BCL extends its gratitude for the opportunity to further pursue its goal of being the preferred service provider to all members of the Victorian Bar.

Ron Castan AM QC, died prematurely in 1999. A pre-eminent silk, he was a leader of the Australian and the Victorian Bar, renowned for his extraordinary legal acumen which he deployed across a multiplicity of areas from commercial law to human rights, to tax and constitutional law, making the headlines for his work in the Mabo case. Castan Q.C extraordinary contribution to the common law of Australia and to the Victorian Bar is suitably acknowledge by naming these chambers after him. BCL is honoured to be able to do so.
