Chambers Insurance

Tenants in BCL Chambers may take advantage of preferential chambers insurance covering the contents of their chambers. This can be extended to cover belongings whilst in transit or on circuit, etc. A copy of the policy (valid 1st March 2012 to 1st March 2013) can be found here.

Safety Procedures

An emergency is defined as "any event that arises internally or from external sources which may adversely affect the safety of persons in a building or the community generally and requires immediate response by the occupants." (Deanmac Emergency Services Pty Ltd, 2000)

"Note: If there is any doubt as to whether any hazardous situation constitutes an emergency, then it must be treated as an emergency." (Deanmac Emergency Services Pty Ltd, 2000)

In Owen Dixon East and West, and Douglas Menzies Chambers, the Evacuation Procedure Manual can be found in the Fire cupboard on each floor. Evacuation plans can be found on all levels in the lift lobby area.

In Isaacs and Aickin Chambers, evacuation plans and other safety information can be found on each floor in the lift lobby.

In Joan Rosanove Chambers, the evacuation plan can be found in the lift lobby of each floor.

In Gorman and Coldrey Chambers, the evacuation plan can be found near the fire exit door next to the lifts.

In Ninian Stephen Chambers, the evacuation plan can be found in the lift lobby.

BCL requests that all tenants take the time to familiarise themselves with the emergency procedures.
